Again, thanks so much for the tremendous love and support.
I landed in CA last night about 1AM Eastern, picked up my rental and drove to my parent’s house in Banning, where I am now. My Dad is holding up well externally, but after 43+ years of marriage to my Mom, he is understanably heartbroken. I am, as well. While I was in Hawaii with my parents last Summer, we talked at length about what the plans were when one of them passed. I remember distincly that most of the conversation revolved around what my Mom would do if Dad passed. Being older than my Mom, I guess we just figured he’d leave first. It just goes to show that life doesn’t always work out the way we anticipate.
If the number of emails, phone calls, etc, is a measure of my life as well, rest assured that I feel tremendously blessed with the quality of people that surround me. I will be forever grateful to you all for everything you’ve done and said to help me get through this difficult time.

Those of you following the blog know that my Mom suffered a severe stroke back in January. Unfortunately, Mom passed away March 29. I am leaving Monday morning for California. My current plan is to return on Monday, March 7. In the meantime, Steve Carroll and company will be working on as much as they can. I apologize for any delays my absence causes.
Thank you all for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers and support that everyone in the family has received during the past few very difficult months. There are no words which can adequately express our gratitude for the overwhelming response we’ve received. If a person’s friends are any indication of how one lived their life, my Mom indeed lived very well. And she will live on in the hearts and memories of those who lives she touched.

Returned back from CA on Wed. Mom’s condition is still unchanged. She has moments of consciousness, but they are few. She opens her eyes, and will try to speak, but has difficulty forming words. She still cannot swallow, so she is on a feeding tube. My sincere thanks to all for your continued support. Your well-wishes, thoughts and prayers have helped my family and I immensely in the past few weeks. Now that I am back, and out of the situation, the full weight of it is finally hitting me. I guess I had to kind of put it aside whileI was there. The path is a long one, but with people like you all out there, we’ll be okay. You all will never know how much your concern and friendship has helped.
Lastly, I have to give a big, HUGE hug to my AMAZING Minx. Her efforts made all of this possible, and I woud NOT have fared as well as I have without her. She updated folks when I couldn’t, and her care and concern for me and my family helped me get through the journey…
My thanks and appreciation to you all - you’ve made a difference.<br>

Not much news for yesterday. A lot is going on, and hopefully she’ll be taken off the ventilator today. She is opening her eyes, making spontaneous movement, and focusing, but there is no way of knowing right now if this will be the extent of her recovery or not. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has called/emailed etc. with encouragement. You will never, everknow how appreciated it is.
